Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said Deondre Francois will start against Ole Miss, but he joked everyone should have already known that. Sean Maguire did return to practice recently from a broken foot, but Fisher isn't sure if he'll be ready for Sept. 5.

Texas has moved another QB to wide receiver. First it was Jerrod Heard, now it's Kai Locksley. The redshirt freshman and former ESPN 300 recruit is playing receiver according to Texas' updated roster. He has potential there, too: Locksley played that position in the Under Armour All-America Game and played well.

There are three true freshmen in Oregon's two deep -- quarterback Justin Herbert, linebacker Troy Dye and cornerback Brandon Schooler. Most surprising name in there is Schooler. The Oregon secondary struggled mightily last season with youth and inexperience so to see a true freshman crack that two-deep is unexpected. But, Helfrich said that his speed and toughness made him an obvious choice to be Arrion Springs' back up.
