Lane Kiffin gets the pub, but his Conference USA title game opponent, North Texas' Seth Littrell, has done an excellent job turning things around in Denton. Littrell is 8-3 in his second season, and North Texas' 420 points rank second in the league behind Kiffin's FAU offense (446 points).

UCLA's 2-point conversion attempt is no good. USC leads 28-23 with under three minutes remaining in the fourth.

For USC, tonight's game really doesn't mean much. It's already in the Pac-12 championship game and is a non-factor in the College Football Playoff. Maybe that explains why it doesn't seem like the Trojans are playing with as much energy as you would expect in a rivalry game.

A great performance by Jim Leavitt's Oregon defense tonight against Arizona star QB Khalil Tate, limited to 32 net rush yards on 14 carries and only 159 pass yards. Oregon twice picked off Tate en route to a 48-28 win. The Ducks are bowl eligible.

Bryce Love broke out on Stanford's 1st possession of the 2nd half, taking it 57 yards for a TD out of the Cardinal's jumbo, 22-in-the-box formation. Great blocks from fullback Daniel Marx and pulling guard Nate Herbig sprung him.

Sam Darnold was ruled down before fumbling, but that's still a ding against him in the eyes of NFL scouts. His ball security should be the one major concern about his ability to succeed at the next level.

Edward Aschoff ESPN Staff Writer

USC QB Sam Darnold is 3-of-4 for 41 yards and 2 first downs from outside the pocket tonight. Darnold is up to 46 completions outside the pocket this season, most among Power 5 QBs. Kansas LB Joe Dineen, on the handshake snub: "It wasn't an attack on (Mayfield) personally at all. I respect him. He's obviously a great player. It was more for us personally to kind of put our foot down and kind of get a little bit fired up before the game and let them know that we're here and we're not going to just back down because you're Oklahoma."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Kansas coach David Beaty on his players snubbing Baker Mayfield at the coin toss: "I'm proud of our guys for getting to a point, and not just -- we're not going to take it anymore. You're going to stick your feet in the ground and you're going to defend your grass. I think we've got to display (it) better than that, obviously, but I get it. I understand where they're coming from. I've got to do a better job as their coach maybe teaching them how to manage that a little bit better. … But I certainly don't think it was anything more than the fact that this is a football game, and we're going to defend our grass. From that standpoint, I think it helped us. We were ready to go."

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Kansas coach David Beaty, on the Baker Mayfield crotch grab: "I mean, I saw him, but he's a competitor. I mean, guys do what they do. I'm not sure exactly what took place. He's not my player. So, it's not my job to manage him. It's my job to get our guys to where they can -- they stop him where maybe a guy doesn't have that opportunity to do that. I don't control him. He's a terrific player. I know that. I'll tell you what, I haven't seen any better. That guy is a really, really good football player. I'm not sure what he said, but I know Coach (Lincoln) Riley is a classy guy. He'll manage it."
