Undrafted rookie guard Collin Buchanan from Miami (Ohio) initially signed with the Saints but opted to leave the team before the start of rookie minicamp. Sean Payton said they spent some time talking in his office Friday. "He felt pretty confident he didn't want to play anymore," Payton said. "So that happens from time to time. And I told him this, and it's the truth really, it's not for everyone. He was just one of those players that felt like he was ready to get on with (what's) next."

Mississippi State beat Miami-Ohio 17-16 as bowl season resumes after taking a day off. The ViewFromVegas is MSU failed to cover as a 14.5-point favorite and the game stayed under the total of 58 as our major betting trends continued. Favorites have 11 of the 15 bowls so far, but underdogs are 11-4 ATS (73.3 percent) as there have been 7 games with the favorite winning but not covering. Unders also improved to 10-5 (66.7 percent).

Jamoral Graham picks off Miami (OH) QB Gus Ragland at about the 10-yard line. The Bulldogs then added a field goal on the other end to take a 17-16 lead in the fourth quarter on ESPN.

Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald fakes the handoff, then takes off for a 44-yard TD run down the sideline. The Bulldogs trail Miami (OH) 16-14 in the third quarter on ESPN.
