Ohio State's No. 1 class gets 4th top-25 recruit

The Buckeyes now have 13 ESPN 300 commitments out of 14 total commits in 2018 after two-way lineman Matthew Jones, the No. 20-ranked prospect in the class, picked them over Penn State and several other programs.

Virginia Tech has added Ohio state wide receiver James Clark as a graduate transfer. Clark enrolled in summer classes today and will play this fall for the Hokies. He had six catches last year and Ohio State and appeared in all 13 games. Clark will compete for playing time alongside Cam Phillips. Virginia Tech lost its top two receivers from last season.

Ohio State picked up another running back commit for the 2018 class with Tennessee prospect Master Teague. The 5-foot-11, 196-pound back chose the Buckeyes on Sunday over Auburn, Georgia and Tennessee. Teague joins fellow running backs Jaelen Gill and Brian Snead in this class for Ohio State.

Class Rankings: Ohio State jumps to No. 1

Ohio State has leapfrogged Miami to the top of the latest class rankings. All 12 of the Buckeyes' 2018 commitments are ranked in the ESPN 300.

With Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops deciding to retire on Wednesday, there are only four active FBS head coaches who have won national titles: Alabama's Nick Saban, Ohio State's Urban Meyer, FSU's Jimbo Fisher and Clemson's Dabo Swinney.

Coaches from Michigan and Ohio State, as well as five other Big Ten teams, will be in attendance at USC's Rising Stars satellite camp on June 11. The camp boasts over 30 colleges and 10 plus conferences that will be coaching at the event, including the Wolverines, Buckeyes, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Northwestern and Vanderbilt among others.

ESPN 300 linebacker Teradja Mitchell has committed to Ohio State. The No. 41 ranked prospect gives Ohio State 12 total commitments in the 2018 class, all of which are ranked in the ESPN 300. The Buckeyes are now tied with Miami for the most ESPN 300 commits so far in 2018.
