One name gaining traction at Georgia State is South Carolina offensive line coach Shawn Elliott, sources say. Elliott served as South Carolina's co-offensive coordinator from 2012 to 2015 and was interim coach following Steve Spurrier's midseason retirement.

Arizona State offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey has talked with Georgia State about its coaching vacancy, according to a source. Lindsey, a candidate for the Southern Miss job last year, also likely would be in the mix at Troy if Neal Brown leaves for another job (Cincinnati possible).
