After beating back-to-back top 20 teams, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney wouldn't compare this year's team to last year's national title winners. In fact, he said Clemson just said it played its worst game defensively in the win over Louisville and Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson. "We made more mental mental errors, more missed tackles ... September is not the time to be talking about who we are compared to past teams. We're just a team trying to earn our way right now."
Two major matchups remain for Clemson
The Tigers took care of Lamar Jackson & Co. last weekend, but they'll get another big test in two weeks when they visit the Hokies. Then, after a relatively quiet October, Florida State will come to Death Valley looking for its first win over Clemson since 2014.
