Ensminger named LSU's OC, replacing Canada

LSU tight ends coach Steve Ensminger has been promoted to offensive coordinator, replacing Matt Canada, who was bought out of his deal just one year into his tenure.

It has been a news-filled afternoon for LSU, as Steve Ensminger is promoted to offensive coordinator and running back Derrius Guice declares for the NFL draft. ESPN's Mel Kiper projects Guice, an All-SEC selection in each of the past two seasons, as the No. 3 draft-eligible running back for 2018.

ESPN 300 defensive back Kelvin Joseph has committed to LSU. Joseph is the No. 35 ranked prospect overall and is now the second highest ranked commit in the class behind No. 10 ranked Terrace Marshall.

Justin Yoon's 46-yard field goal with four seconds to play in the second quarter prevented Notre Dame and LSU from playing the first scoreless opening half in an FBS bowl game in longer than a decade. Irish lead 3-0. Last bowl game to go to half with this score, per ESPN Stats & Info, was the 2008 Sun Bowl, won 3-0 by Oregon State over Pitt.
