STANFORD, Calif. -- Briana Roberson only missed one shot and hit four 3-pointers, scoring 16 points to lead No. 11 Stanford to an 83-55 win over Cal Poly on Friday night.
Stanford has won 16-straight season-openers and 18 straight home openers. Coach Tara VanDerveer is now 19 wins from becoming the second women's coach with 1,000 career wins.
Erica McCall added 14 points for the Cardinal, who had five players in double figures and Marta Sniezek with 10 rebounds.
Stanford made 8 of 14 shots in grabbing a 20-14 lead after one quarter and stretched that to 38-27 at the half. The Cardinal then shot 58 percent in the second half to pull away.
Hannah Gilbert led the Mustangs with 17 points and Lynn Leaupepe had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cal Poly shot 24 percent in the second half and 30 percent for the game.
