Frank Ntilikina was asked if he agreed with Jeff Hornacek deciding against having him defend bigger players like Ben Simmons and Nic Batum. He answered the way you'd expect him to: "As a competitor I won't agree with that becauwe that would make myself be... I don't know how to say it English. But you know me, I just want to take every challenge. That's the coach's job and coach's decision to put whoever he thinks is the better matchup on the court. But as a player we all gotta be ready when he calls you. And I was ready when he called me (tonight) and that will be the (approach) every night."

Jeff Hornacek said defense - and Lance Thomas' defense in particular - was the key to the Knicks outscoring Charlotte, 42-17, in the third quarter on Saturday: "I think the biggest thing was they got after it defensively. I thought Lance was fantastic in the third quarter. He made some big plays. (Nic) Batum, played him great. He helped to slow him down."

He's a coverage linebacker who can play in sub packages and on special teams. He's seen as a potential complement to new MLB Avery Williamson, who is a first- and second-down linebacker. The Jets were looking for linebacker depth. Pierre Louis was arrested in January for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
