Tuesday's longest home runs

Gary Sanchez outpaced the competition by nearly 40 feet, as his 493-foot blast -- his first of two homers on the day -- slots in behind Aaron Judge's 495-footer for the longest home runs this season. Yangervis Solarte's 455-footer highlights a career-high six-RBI night, while the homers by Nick Williams and Marcell Ozuna were only two of 14 hit by the Phillies and Marlins between both ends of their doubleheader.

Yankees rightfielder Aaron Judge snapped his strikeout streak at 37 consecutive games, going 1-for-1 with 3 walks in a win over the Tigers. Judge and Bill Stoneman (a pitcher for the 1971-72 Expos) share the mark for longest such streak all-time, Judge still remains on pace to crush Curtis Granderson's franchise record for strikeouts in a season.

Masahiro Tanaka was pretty good in his return from the DL. Tanaka, who had inflammation in his shoulder, went seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits. He struck out four and walked none. He was given a seven-run lead before the bottom of the third.

Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek was at a gym in Manhattan this week to watch a pickup game featuring Carmelo Anthony and other NBA players, per league sources. It's unclear if Hornacek was there to watch/support Anthony or to watch other players in the game but his presence is worth noting given the current situation between the Knicks and Anthony. The club would like to trade Anthony and Anthony would like to be moved but NYK hasn't found a suitable deal yet. Anthony has been working out with trainer Chris Brickley at the Lifetime Fitness gym in Manhattan this summer and playing pickup with several NBA players, including LeBron James and Kevin Durant, at the gym.

The streak is over. Aaron Judge's strikeout streak has come to an end. Judge had K'd in a major league record 37 games, but didn't on Tuesday night. He went 1-for-1 with three walks before being lifted as the Yanks were blowing out the Tigers.

Without including Kristaps Porzingis, the Knicks would have been hard pressed (to say the least) to come up with a package like Boston's for Kyrie‬ Irving. Irving had been telling friends that he was open to playing in New York.

The Yankees' Gary Sanchez's first inning two-run shot was the second longest in baseball this year, according to StatCast. Sanchez' shot went 493-feet. Aaron Judge hit one earlier in the season that was estimated at 495-feet.
