Nets' and Wizards' trade of Bojan Bogdanovic and Chris McCullough for Andrew Nicholson, guard Marcus Thornton and 2017 protected first round draft pick officially goes through. Wizards add much-needed bench scoring and unload Nicholson's salary. Nets gain a first-round pick and veteran stretch scoring forward in Nicholson. "Bojan is a very good shooter and a talented overall scorer whose versatility gives us an added dimension as we gear up for the stretch run," said Washington president Ernie Grunfeld. "He is a proven starter that will provide us an added boost off the bench and allow us to be creative with our lineups."

I don't know if this has anything to do with Minnesota's trade talks with the Knicks for Derrick Rose, but it will fuel conspiracy theories: Ricky Rubio started following Kristaps Porzingis on Instagram recently. Also, Knicks rookie Willy Hernangomez bacatipned with Rubio, a friend of his, over the All-Star break.

Discussions surrounding a potential trade of Derrick Rose continued between the Knicks and the Timberwolves on Wednesday, according to a source. It is unclear what, specifically, Minnesota would offer the Knicks in a potential swap for Rose. Although according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, the Timberwolves are motivated to move Ricky Rubio because team president and coach Tom Thibodeau sees rookie Kris Dunn as the franchise's point guard of the future.

Adding Bojan Bogdanovic from the Nets could bolster the Wizards' bench. The Wizards average 23.4 points per game from bench players, second-fewest in the NBA to the Timberwolves' 22.1.

Derrick Rose isn't the only player to draw interest from opposing teams looking to make a trade. Kyle O'Quinn and Brandon Jennings both being asked about in recent days, sources say. O'Quinn has played well this season and is on a team-friendly contract. Jennings is in the final year of his contract and has proved durable this season after missing nearly 12 months with an Achilles injury.

Carmelo Anthony on Knicks management: "Those guys understand and know how I'm feeling, what's on my mind, and what I would like to see happen." Anthony has said in the past that he's dedicated to New York and said Wednesday that he doesn't feel the need to keep talking about his devotion to the Knicks and the city.

Derrick Rose sat out the final portion of a scrimmage today but he participated in all of practice prior to that, per the Knicks.

Carmelo Anthony said he was feeling relaxed as the trade deadline approached: "If something is going to happen it's going to happen. I haven't heard anything as of right now, so that's not something that I'm concerned about."

Carmelo Anthony says he still hasn't heard from Knicks management about any possible trades and reiterates that he expects to be with the team for their first game after the deadline.

Brandon Jennings said he took a break from social media over the past few days, in part, because of some crazy responses from Knicks fans. (I'm thinking of doing the same.)

Jeff Hornacek said yesterday that Courtney Lee was too ill to fly to NY in time for Tuesday's practice but he's expected to play Thursday.

Derrick Rose answers a coupe of questions about being the subject of trade talk:

Derrick Rose was reminded on Tuesday that he's talked about how much he loves playing in NY: "It doesn't matter if you're on the trading block," Rose said. "I love it (here). But it's not up to me. It's up to the front office. I don't have a problem with the coaching staff. I don't have a problem with my teammates."

Derrick Rose on the possibility of being traded: "You never know what's going to happen. You've got to be a professional about it. Whatever it is, I'll be prepared."

Joakim Noah is out for Thursday's game against the Cavs. Jeff Hornacek said Noah tweaked a hamstring injury during a practice prior to the All-Star break. Willy Hernangomez will start in his place against Cleveland.

Carmelo Anthony's absence from practice is excused. Players who participated in the All Star game can miss today's practice.

Carmelo Anthony (excused), Courtney Lee (illness) and Joakim Noah (left hamstring) did not practice today, the Knicks say.

The Timberwolves have reached out to the Knicks recently to discuss potential trades for New York point guard Derrick Rose, sources told ESPN. Rose, a free agent this summer, played for seven seasons under current Timberwolves and ex-Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau. It is unclear what Minnesota would offer in a potential trade for Rose.

The return that the Kings got for DeMarcus Cousins (2017 first-round pick, 2017 second-round pick, Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans and Langston Galloway) should give the Knicks an indication of what they could expect back in a Carmelo Anthony trade. Every situation is different, but Anthony would bring back less in a potential trade than Boogie did, you'd think. Further complicating matters for the Knicks is the fact that Anthony has a no-trade clause.
