Newsday reporter Barbra Barker tweets that Knicks rookie Frank Ntilikina hurt his ankle at Knicks practice today. The severity is unknown but Ntilikina was helped off of the court by a coach and a teammate, per a photo from Barker. Ntilikina, the No. 8 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, missed four of five preseason games due to a knee bruise and missed the Knicks' summer league due to a knee injury suffered in the final game of his French League season.

Here's Thunder coach Billy Donovan, who coached Joakim Noah at the University of Florida, on Noah's frustration during his first season in New York: "Just in conversations I've had with him - he's a very very prideful guy and I think that based on him coming back to New York, growing up there, his love for New York, I think it really bothered him deeply that he didn't get himself healthy. I think he wanted to contribute a lot more, I think he wanted to help the team a lot more. I know being around him, when I was around him, he's all about winning. He's a total team guy. He's unselfish, he's a leader. But when you're in the position physically he was in last year, even talking to him after our game in New York, I know he was frustrated. He wasn't frustrated with the organization or his teammates or his coaches, he was frustrated with the fact that he couldn't help his team. And I think that really bothered him. And I know with the suspension right now, he's put a lot of work in this summer to get himself healthy and try to contribute to the best of his ability."

Jets DE Mo Wilkerson (toe, shoulder) missed practice for the third straight day and is listed as questionable. He will be a game-time decision. He missed practice last week and still wound up playing 53 of 68 snaps on Sunday. Coach Todd Bowles admitted they've considered sitting him for at least a game to give him a chance to get healthier. Rookie Jordan Leggett was declared out after his balky knee swelled up after yesterday's practice. He will have tests on the knee.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas on what he gained from playing for Lithuania this summer in the European Championships: "I think this summer gave me a lot of self confidence because I was playing against players from the league (and) I think I did pretty well, we did pretty well so that gave me extra self confidence to go through the season," he said last week. Kuzminskas, who averaged 15 points and four rebounds in the Euros (re FIBA.com), isn't worried about possibly starting the season out of the regular rotation. He was inactive for the Knicks opener. "I think the season is long and we'll have a lot of things (that happen) during the season. What I learned from the first season is that you've got to be patient and just do your job. Your playing five minutes, your playing 7, your playing 30, you can always bring some benefits." Kuzminskas wasn't always a part of the rotation last year but produced well in stretches when he played.
