If Derrick Rose really wants to be a Knick for life, he's doing a good job selling himself tonight. He has 21 pints and five assists and just scored on back-to-back possessions in impressive fashion. He hit a layup in traffic and then drilled an 18-foot step back over Kris Dunn, an excellent defender.

Kyle O'Quinn's fingerprints are all over this game. He has 18 points and 11 rebounds in 25 minutes and may have saved the Knicks in the last 90 seconds. He has an offensive rebound and putback to give the Knicks a one-point lead and then drew an foul while going for a rebound on the next possession.

Wow. The Knicks led by 14 midway through the third quarter and have blown that advantage quickly. The game is tied at 100-100 with eight minutes to play. The Knicks' reserve unit has been awful early in the fourth quarter. Jeff Hornacek turns back to Derrick Rose to try to calm things down.

After missing 46 of his previous 60 shots, Carmelo Anthony seems to have found his shooting touch again. He has 25 points on 16 shots tonight and has hit 5 of his 8 3-point attempts. He hasn't forced any shots either; most of his attempts have come off of a pass from a teammate.

Zach LaVine told reporters in Minnesota that he'd like to try to dunk on Kristaps Porzingis. He gave it a shot in the third quarter tonight but was rejected by Porzingis, who is averaging 2.6 blocks per game in his last 5 games.

Porzingis' block leads to Melo 3 (0:30)

Exactly how Phil Jackson drew it up: a Kristaps Porzingis block is gathered by Derrick Rose, who finds Carmelo Anthony for a 3-pointer in transition. The Knicks are up by 12 on Minnesota. With a win, they'll be a game over .500. This would be latest in the season they'd be over .500 since 2013.

Nothing blue about Big Blue's defense

The Giants will take a six-game winning streak into Pittsburgh on Sunday. New York hasn't allowed more than two TDs in a game in two months (Minnesota, 24-10 on Oct. 3).

Will Rockets match on Motiejunas?

The Rockets have 72 hours to decide whether to match Brooklyn's offer to Donatas Motiejunas. Should they? And would Motiejunas help the Nets?

Karl-Anthony Towns put up a career-high 47 points on Wednesday against New York. It's safe to say he isn't going to break that mark tonight. He's just 1-for-7 thus far in the first half and has four points against New York. The T-Wolves trail by 11 but have been outscored by 23 in Towns' 14 minutes.

Jeff Hornacek goes with the Derrick Rose-Brandon Jennings backcourt late in the first half. He's had a love-hate relationship with this alignment because of what it allows defensively. But the Knicks seem content to outscore Minnesota tonight. They already have 62 points in the half.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas gets the attention of the MSG crowd with that dunk. The crowd yells "Kuuuuzzzz" after Kuzminskas puts down a left-handed dunk over Minnesota's Cole Aldrich. Kuzminskas is one of several reserves signed by Phil Jackson who've played well early on this season.

Extremely balanced scoring for the Knicks early on against Minnesota. Three starters have at least six points. Justin Holiday, in for the injured Courtney Lee, has been particularly active. He has six points and five rebounds in 11 minutes. New York is up 30-21 heading into the second quarter.

The Yankees have non-tendered lefty reliever Jacob Lindgren. Lindgren, 23, was the Yankees' top draft pick (55th overall) in 2014 out of Mississippi State. He made the big leagues in 2015, but has been beset by injuries, including an elbow ligament that required Tommy John surgery and will likely keep him out until 2018.

The Brooklyn Nets have signed restricted free agent forward Donatas Montiejunas to an offer sheet paying $37 million over four years, sources told The Undefeated on Friday. The Houston Rockets have three days to match the offer or Montiejunas will join the Nets.

Justin Holiday will start in place of the injured Courtney Lee tonight. With Holiday in the starting lineup, Jeff Hornacek may increase Mindaugas Kuzminskas' minutes. He also has Lance Thomas back for the first time in three weeks and a healthy Sasha Vujacic. So he'll have options at backup SG.
