Stanton happy to escape Miami, join Yankees

Giancarlo Stanton said the Marlins tried to strong-arm him into a trade to the Giants or Cardinals, but he refused to be forced to do something that wasn't right for him. "This is what I've dreamed of," Stanton said of joining the Yankees.

Giants injury update: S Landon Collins has an ankle sprain, thinks he'll be fine but Giants know they might have to save him from himself. OL Justin Pugh is having his back checked this week by Dr. Robert Watkins in L.A. The hope is it just needs rest. WR Darius Powe needs surgery on his broken foot. (DE Romeo Okwara is eligible to return from IR this week and could be activated as early as Tuesday.)
