CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (groin) and Eli Apple (hamstring) did work on side with trainers. Nat Berhe (n/a), Marshall Newhouse (calf) and Darian Thompson were not at practice. Giants really short on safeties. RB Rashad Jennings tried working with what appeared to be a wrap instead of a cast.

Detroit and Seattle both won on Wednesday, meaning Baltimore needed to win to keep hold on the second wild card. The O's did just that, coming back against the Blue Jays in the ninth. The Yankees and Astros are still technically in the hunt, but their odds are less than 1 percent a game away from elimination.

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

The Jets are re-signing WR/PR Jeremy Ross, source confirmed. Replaces Jalin Marshall (torn labrum). CBS first reported.

Mike D'Antoni told NBA.com that Carmelo Anthony & Kobe Bryant didn't fully buy in to his offense, resisting the principles. "They did," the Rockets coach said. "And they were paid 20-something million dollars for it -- they were successful. So I don't blame them. Nothing's been proven up to that point."
