Jeremy Lin's army of fans helped the Brooklyn point guard finish eighth in the fan voting portion among East guards, ahead of Charlotte's Kemba Walker. Fan voting counted for 50% of All-Star starters vote with the players and media vote counting for 25% each.

Carmelo Anthony will not start in the All-Star Game for the first time since 2008-09. Under new voting process by fans, players and media, Kristaps Porzingis finished 6th overall with a higher weighted score than Anthony, who finished 8th among East frontcourt players. Porzingis finished with 51 votes from players and received two votes from media to start. Anthony received 50 votes from players but no media votes to start.

Jeff Hornacek won't reveal if Kristaps Porzingis will start tonight. But Porzingis will likely play in short bursts of minutes tonight according to Hornacek. Porzingis had to get over last hurdle with MRI and warmup before being cleared. He said his Achilles felt it was at 90% recently.
