Jose Reyes in starting lineup

NEW YORK -- Jose Reyes was activated from the bereavement list and back in the New York Mets' starting lineup for Thursday's victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Reyes, who 1-for-4 Thursday, missed three games following the death of his grandmother, Maria Trinidad Reyes.

Reyes, who can become a free agent after the season, was batting .335 with 17 RBIs and 19 stolen bases before going on the bereavement list. He's among the league leaders in batting average, runs, hits, doubles, steals and total bases.

New York made room for Reyes by putting reliever Taylor Buchholz on the disabled list with right shoulder fatigue. The move is retroactive to May 30.
