For every Ahmad Bradshaw unearthed in the draft, there's a high pick that did not pan out. Here are some of the picks the Giants made since 1990 that have not worked out, some due to injuries that cut short potentially good careers.
QB -- Dave Brown (Supplemental, 1992)
The Giants used the first supplemental pick on Brown, who never threw for more than 12 touchdowns in a season as a full-time starter.
RB -- Ron Dayne (Round 1, 2000)
The Heisman Trophy winner never lived up to expectations, scoring a total of 16 touchdowns and rushing for 2,067 yards in five seasons for the Giants.
RB -- Jarrod Bunch (Round 1, 1991)
The fullback lasted just four seasons in the NFL before retiring due to injury, gaining a total of 629 yards and five touchdowns.
WR -- Thomas Lewis (Round 1, 1994)
Drafted ahead of the likes of Isaac Bruce, Lewis played just four seasons for the Giants and had a total of 74 receptions for 1,032 yards and five touchdowns.
WR -- Sinorice Moss (Round 2, 2006)
Moss never panned out due to injuries and talent ahead of him, finishing with 39 receptions and three touchdowns in four-plus years as a Giant.
TE -- Derek Brown (Round 1, 1992)
The 6-foot-6, 271-pounder had 11 catches for 87 yards in three seasons with the Giants.
OL -- Jeff Hatch (Round 3, 2002)
Missed his entire rookie season with a herniated disk in his back and started the final four games of the following season before being released.
OL -- Rob Zatechka (Round 4, 1995)
Lasted four seasons with the Giants, starting a total of nine games.
OL -- Scott Davis (Round 6, 1993)
Played in only 21 games during his five-year career.
OL -- Clarence Jones (Round 4, 1991)
Started 88 games over his career but none for the Giants, as he appeared in just 10 games for the Giants in three seasons.
OL -- Toby Myles (Round 5, 1998)
Played in 11 games over four seasons.
DL --Cedric Jones (Round 1, 1996)
DL -- William Joseph (Round 1, 2003)
Joseph went six picks ahead of lockdown corner Nnamdi Asomugha and gave the Giants a total of 52 tackles and seven sacks in five seasons.
DL -- Greg Mark (Round 3, 1990)
Played a total of six games, none for the Giants.
DL -- Cedric Scott (Round 4, 2001)
Had six tackles in three pro seasons.
LB -- Kanavis McGhee (Round 2, 1991)
Lasted just five seasons in the NFL and finished with three sacks.
LB -- Ben Talley (Round 4, 1995)
Played in 12 games over a three-year career.
LB -- Ryan Phillips (Round 3, 1997)
Taken five picks ahead of a guy named Jason Taylor.
CB -- Thomas Randolph (Round 2, 1994)
Played four seasons for the Giants and had a total of four interceptions.
CB -- Rodney Young (Round 3, 1995)
Played in 22 games in the first two seasons but just 11 after that for his career. Young suffered a back injury in 1998, his last season.
CB -- Will James (Peterson) (Round 3, 2001)
Injuries kept James from realizing his full potential with the Giants.
CB -- Shaun Williams (Round 1, 1998)
He was a starter on the Super Bowl team in 2000 and had eight interceptions in his three full seasons as a starter. But we're putting him in this space because injuries kept him from realizing his full potential, limiting the first-round pick to 20 games over his last three seasons (2003-05) as a Giant.
K -- John Markham (Round 5, 2001)
Markham failed to make the roster out of camp.
