EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Wide receiver Santonio Holmes and cornerback Antonio Cromartie, both of whom were considered game-time decisions Sunday because of injuries, are active and will start for the New York Jets against the Miami Dolphins at MetLife Stadium.
As expected, wide receiver Jeremy Kerley -- listed as questionable -- will miss his third straight game with a dislocated elbow.
Holmes, who aggravated a hamstring injury last week, didn't practice Thursday and Friday, prompting coach Rex Ryan to say he was "concerned." The veteran receiver, who missed five games with a severe hamstring injury earlier in the season, convinced the training staff in pregame warm-ups that he was able to play.
Holmes was listed as questionable. So, too, was Cromartie, who aggravated an old hip injury last Sunday and missed practice Wednesday and Thursday. He was limited Friday, telling reporters he was optimistic that he'd be able to play.
An active Holmes should help rookie quarterback Geno Smith, who has gone four straight games without a touchdown pass.
