Chris Snee, Zak DeOssie sent home

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants offensive lineman Chris Snee, after being released from a local hospital, and long-snapper Zak DeOssie visited the team's practice facility before being sent home to rest after both suffered concussions in Sunday's 36-25 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, coach Tom Coughlin said.

Coughlin said he did not know when the concussions for either player occurred. Both spent the night in the hospital Sunday for observation.

"He was in (the practice facility) this morning, and (the doctors sent) him home to rest," Coughlin said of Snee. "I think Zak (was) the same thing, sent home."

Coughlin said Snee told him he was feeling "a little better, but he still wasn't feeling real good."

Both players will need to pass baseline tests and be cleared by an independent third-party neurologist before being cleared to practice, as mandated by NFL rules.

Defensive end Justin Tuck, who continues to be hampered by injuries to his groin and neck, missed Sunday's game.

"He said he feels a little better (Monday)," Coughlin said of Tuck. "But (once) he gets out there running, we'll know more."

Tuck wouldn't address his injuries when asked Monday, but he said last week that he's considering sitting out and resting until the team's Week 7 bye.

Center David Baas also missed Sunday's game due to a neck injury.

"(This is) probably the best I've felt in a couple weeks," Baas said. "It was probably a good decision to let it heal a little bit, this week is still gonna be kind of the same, but I'm preparing like I always would have like I'm going to play the game."

Baas still will have to consult with and be cleared by doctors first.

"I want to play, so I'm going to listen to the doctors and we're gonna make the best decision," he said.

Running back Brandon Jacobs missed Sunday's game with what a source says is a sprained MCL. Fullback Henry Hynoski suffered a burner in Sunday's game. His status is currently unknown.
