SAN FRANCISCO -- The New York Giants' two starting wide receivers will be game-time decisions Sunday against San Francisco.
Hakeem Nicks made the trip to California and is hoping to return to the field from a hamstring injury. But the Giants added Mario Manningham to the injury report with a knee injury and listed him as questionable. Manningham experienced swelling in the knee Saturday morning, according to a source.
Manningham had practiced fully all week. It is not known how he injured his knee.
Nicks missed last week's win over the Patriots with a hamstring injury. He began to run on it Tuesday, and ran full speed Wednesday without any setbacks.
The team's best wide receiver went through a limited practice Thursday and Friday. He said he was going to be examined by doctors Saturday morning before flying to San Francisco.
"So far it's passed every test," Nicks told reporters Friday. "It went to a little more than 50 percent today, it turned out pretty good. I got to test it a little bit, run down field a little bit and it still felt pretty good. So we'll see what happens."
Nicks said earlier in the week that the key was making sure his hamstring does not feel fatigued or suffer any setbacks. He likely will test it before the game to see if he can play.
