Jason Pierre-Paul active for Giants

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The New York Giants will be healthier for their season opener than anyone might have guessed a few weeks ago.

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, wide receiver Victor Cruz and fullback Henry Hynoski are all active for Sunday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys. Each missed all or part of the preseason due to injuries.

Pierre-Paul had back surgery in June and did not practice again until two weeks ago. Hynoski injured his knee in OTAs and missed the entire preseason. Cruz suffered a bruised heel in the Giants' second preseason game and missed the final two, returning to practice just last week.

Inactive for the Giants on Sunday night are injured offensive linemen David Baas (knee) and David Diehl (thumb), as well as injured defensive end Damontre Moore (shoulder) and injured tight end Adrien Robinson (foot). The healthy scratches are defensive end Adewale Ojomo, defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins and quarterback Ryan Nassib.

The Cowboys' inactives include defensive end Anthony Spencer, who is recovering from offseason knee surgery. That hurts a Cowboys defensive line that's already thin, thanks to injuries to defensive tackle Jay Ratliff and others.
