Rangers acquire Dan Carcillo

The Rangers have acquired Daniel Carcillo in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in 2014, the team confirmed.

The move came less than a day after feisty fourth-line forward Derek Dorsett left the team's 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins with a broken fibula. Dorsett is expected to miss up to six weeks.

The 28-year-old Carcillo, known to be an antagonist, has one goal, two points and 57 penalty minutes in 26 games for the Kings this season.

Coach Alain Vigneault told reporters in his pregame briefing Saturday it was a "low-risk move" to deal for Carcillo. The Rangers play the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night, the last of a five-game road trip.
