El Aynaoui captures Qatar Open title

DOHA, Qatar -- Younes El Aynaoui of Morocco beat Felix
Mantilla of Spain 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 Saturday to win the $1 million
Qatar Open.

In the first set, Mantilla broke El Aynaoui's serve in the third
and fifth games to take a 4-1 lead.

El Aynaoui held serve twice thereafter, but the clay-court
specialist Mantilla kept the pressure on with backhand winners and
won the first set.

Drawing energy from a vocal Moroccan crowd, El Aynaoui broke
Mantilla's serve in the sixth and eighth games in front an audience
that included the ruler of Qatar.

El Aynaoui broke Mantilla's serve twice more to win the final
set and his first title of the new season.

The sixth-seeded El Aynaoui earned $137,000 while Mantilla, the
eighth seed, won $81,000.
