Coach Wilson says stars will be in lineup

Peter Bondra and Jaromir Jagr are expected to play Friday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Capitals coach Ron Wilson told the Washington Post on Thursday.

Jagr left Wednesday's game against Columbus a few minutes early with a groin/upper hamstring injury and did not practice Thursday. Bondra also missed practice because of the flu.

Wilson said both will be in his lineup Friday night and the team does not plan to recall any players from its minor league affiliate in Portland, Maine.

"I'm positive (Jagr) is playing," Wilson told the paper. "And Peter is dealing with the flu and he's riding the bike at home, and I'm positive he'll be ready."

The Post also reported that the Capitals are optimistic winger Ulf Dahlen and defenseman Brendan Witt will return soon.

Dahlen (bruised foot) will miss his ninth game Friday, but said he expects to begin skating and practicing with the team by Sunday.

Witt missed the last two games with a sprained thumb, but returned to practice Thursday and believes there is a slim chance he could play Saturday at Florida.
