Chicago is well on its way to another loss, so the Knicks will remain 1.5 games behind the Bulls in Lottery Standings. Chicago has the eighth-worst record in the league. If Brooklyn holds on for a win against Charlotte, New York would move within two games of Brooklyn for the league's 7th-worst record.

Michael Beasley (10-for-14) and Enes Kanter (6-for-10) have shot it well but the rest of the Knicks are shooting a combined 36 percent from the floor. They trail Miami by 22 heading into the fourth.

The Heat may score 60 in the first half against the Knicks. They are shooting 57 percent against New York in the first 18 minutes. Not the kind of effort management's looking for as they give more minutes to young, unproven players.

Don't talk to Michael Beasley about tanking. The free-agent-to-be has 10 points on 4-for-4 shooting in 10 minutes against Miami. The Knicks are looking to win their third straight game since mid-December, when they won four in a row.

Ahead of next week's annual league meetings, the Jets have proposed a new pass-interference rule that would have a significant impact on games. The rule would change pass interference from a spot foul and make it like the college rule — 15 yards regardless of where it occurred. The Jets surrendered 180 yards on pass-interference penalties last season; only nine teams had more. Maybe that explains the Jets' motivation.

Here's Oklahoma star Trae Young answering a question about potentially playing for the Knicks during an interview on ESPN's First Take: "If I'm able to get drafted by the New York Knicks, it would be a blessing. Being in the basketball Mecca, that's one of the biggest markets in the NBA league, if not the biggest.... I feel like what I went through all this year with all the media, the criticism, the ups and downs, I feel like that prepared me for if I was in a situation like that and how I'd be able to handle it. I think I'd be ready.... If I'm blessed enough to be able to play in New York City, I would be honored and I would be willing to get to work and help that franchise win." The Knicks, who drafted guard Frank Ntilikina with the eighth pick last June, are currently projected to select ninth in the 2018 draft; Young may be available at that spot.
