A little late on this but kudos to Michael Beasley for supporting the ACES brand by wearing these shoes in a game. Brian Kortovich started the company to honor his late father, Joseph Kortovich, who died from appendix cancer when Brian was 10. ACES gives a percentage of each sale to causes that matter. "It was an honor to rock the Nike KD "ACES" custom shoes in game," Beasley said. "Knowing what Brian and the ACES brand stands for, I've always taken pride in overcoming the odds and embodying that Hustle & Heart mentality. Look forward to the next one!"

As the Yankees prepare to activate Greg Bird (ankle surgery) off the disabled list tomorrow, Aaron Boone says the team is "still working through" what the corresponding move will be. Calls it a "difficult decision." Asked about Tyler Austin, Boone credits him for being a key part of the reason the Yankees have had success this season. Austin is one player who could be an option to go to the minors as Bird comes back. As for Bird post-injury, the first baseman is "as ready as he can be," Boone said.

Gleyber Torres has been pounding the ball practically since his arrival to the bigs on April 22. But all this month, he's gone on a power-hitting tear that puts him among the best in baseball. Each of Torres' eight homers have come since May 4. That's the second-best homer production in the majors in that span behind J.D. Martinez's nine.

Douglas Wigdor, Charles Oakley's lawyer, denies that he edited a published video showing Oakley's removal from Madison Square Garden, as MSG alluded to in a statement: "As media reports have made clear, the video is a matter of public record and was not "edited and manipulated" by our Firm as Defendants falsely claim. We find it deeply offensive that James Dolan would purposefully malign our Firm in the same way he did our client." Oakley's civil suit against Dolan and MSG alleging defamation and discrimination is ongoing. MSG has released the video in full.

Statement from the Madison Square Garden Company on the video referenced in a court filing today by Charles Oakley's lawyers that allegedly shows James Dolan giving a ‘thumbs up' after Oakley was ejected from MSG: "Today's claims are nothing more than Oakley's latest attempt to distract from the real reasons why he was ejected. We like the videos – they show what actually happened, which is why Oakley's lawyer continues to fight to exclude them from the court case. As opposed to the edited and manipulated video posted by Oakley's counsel, we filed the entire unedited video with the Court months ago. As we've stated before, we believe this suit has no merit and should be dismissed."

Kristaps Porzingis tweets that he "just had a great conversation on the phone with Coach Fiz. Man im excited!!!!! Lets gooo!!!" This would seem to be a good sign for relations between the Knicks and Porzingis going forward. The All-Star big man is eligible for a 5-year, $157 million extension this summer.
