Jenrry Mejia remains a member of the Mets organization -- although he is suspended at least through the 2017 season, and potentially beyond if he is not reinstated from his lifetime PED ban. That does not preclude the Mets from releasing him at a later date. But Mejia is costing the Mets nothing right now, and they have not relinquished control. Mejia has resumed pitching in the Dominican Winter League, which is not covered by the MLB ban.
