Sounds as if WR Victor Cruz (groin) and CB Eli Apple will play Saturday for Giants. Not as much certainty for OL Justin Pugh and WR Geremy Davis.

Jets' non-QB MVP: Brandon Marshall

Marshall might be more important to New York's offense than Ryan Fitzpatrick. As Rich Cimini writes, Marshall's absence would cause a "negative trickle-down effect" for the entire unit. Non-QB MVPs

Update from Jets practice: LB Jordan Jenkins (calf), WR Quincy Enunwa (concussion) and CB Dexter McDougle (hamstring) among those not practicing. Looks as if TE Jace Amaro (groin) will try to practice. All things considered, the Jets are a relatively healthy team. The biggest concern is RT Breno Giacomini (back), still on the PUP list. He may not be ready for opening day.

Tanaka in midst of dominant stretch

Masahiro Tanaka walked one and struck out five in seven shutout innings on Wednesday. Tanaka has won four straight starts, over which he's issued just one walk and struck out 30 batters. He's the first pitcher in Yankees history to fan as many as 30 batters while walking no more than one over four consecutive starts, all wins, per the Elias Sports Bureau.
