Ex-Knick Amar'e Stoudemire shared his thoughts on new Knicks coach David Fizdale in an interview with The Michael Kay Show on ESPN 98.7 FM: "Fizdale was great when I was in Miami (in 2015-16). He was great with the veteran players, myself Dwyane Wade, Loul Deng. He was brilliant with the young players, with Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson. So what he would do was, the training regimen for those guys, he brought us all in early. We worked out before practice, we went through the plays, we had a great understanding of the offense and defensive schemes. So he had us well-prepared for when Spoelstra was ready to take over (practice)….So with having coach Fizdale here, he's going to definitely bring a winning mentality, he's going to make sure that the guys are on the same page. He's going to build a chemistry, I think, that's going to be beneficial for the team."

The filing from Charles Oakley's lawyers says that after Oakley was ejected by Garden security "Defendant Dolan can be seen giving a thumbs up to the security guards." MSG lawyers say the video - which was obtained by the NY Daily News and does not contain audio - proves that Oakley's ejection from the arena was warranted. Oakley's lawyers vehemently disagree. Oakley's lawsuit claims that he was defamed and discriminated against, among other claims. Full background on the civil suit and criminal case in the wake of Oakley's removal from the Garden can be found in previous stories on ESPN.com. Defense lawyers are expected to file a reply to Thursday's filing next month and the judge is expected to rule on whether or not the case will proceed to jury in the coming months.

Charles Oakley's lawyers on Thursday argued in court papers that the motion to dismiss Oakley's civil suit against Madison Square Garden and Knicks owner James Dolan be rejected. Lawyers for Dolan and Madison Square Garden have filed a motion requesting that the suit be dismissed. One piece of evidence Oakley's lawyers cited in Thursday's filing is an arena video that shows Dolan ordering Oakley's ejection and then giving a 'thumbs up' after the ejection. Christopher Johnson's pro-player comments on the NFL's new national-anthem policy might not be received well among fellow owners and CEOs, but they reinforced why he's so popular in the Jets' locker room. The players have a genuine respect for Johnson, who has devoted many hours of his time to listening and helping them in their fight for social justice. You may not agree with his stance, but the people under his employ — the players — believe he gets it. You wonder how older brother/owner Woody Johnson, who works for Donald Trump as the ambassador to the UK, would be handling this polarizing matter.
