Nets leading scorer Russell has knee surgery

Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell is out indefinitely after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery Friday. Russell missed time due to knee injuries last season, but this latest knee injury was not related.

No roster relief for Brooklyn with the D'Angelo Russell left knee surgery. The Nets could still apply for the Disabled Player Exception (Jeremy Lin injury) but must have a roster spot open. Brooklyn currently has 15 players under contract.

Friday's Knicks-Raptors game will feature 6 alumni of the NBA's Basketball Without Borders program. New York's Frank Ntilikina, Enes Kanter and Willy Hernangomez all attended Basketball Without Borders camps. As did Toronto's Jonas Valanciunas, Pascal Siakam and Bruno Caboclo. Basketball Without Borders is the NBA and Fiba's global basketball development and community outreach program. More than 50 players from BWB camps have been drafted into the NBA since 2001.
