Giants open minicamp today. Expectation is that Odell Beckham Jr. will be there although not practicing as he continues to rehab, per sources. Ereck Flowers ... less optimism.

Jets daily draft nugget: No team has traded up into the top five more than the Jets — four times in the common-draft era (since 1967). None of the three previous picks (Mark Sanchez, Dewayne Robertson and Lam Jones) made a single Pro Bowl. The Jets also are part of another trend. Since 2013, only nine of the 12 first-round quarterbacks were taken with picks acquired via trade. The exceptions: Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota and Blake Bortles.

The Bronx Bombers lived up to their nickname Monday night, as every player in the starting lineup reached base. Only Brett Gardner (two walks) failed to get a hit. Aaron Judge launched a deep double. Giancarlo Stanton went 4-for-4 (his first four-hit game as a Yankee) with a long homer. Didi Gregorius hit a grand slam. Tyler Austin homered. So did Miguel Andújar. And 21-year-old 2B Gleyber Torres, playing in just his second major-league game, got his first career hit. That leadoff single kicked off a six-run eighth that helped the Yankees cruise to a 14-1 win over the Twins.

At 10:20 p.m. ET on April 23, 2018, young Yankees 2B Gleyber Torres had his first major-league hit. A single up the middle at the Stadium, he lined a 1-2 slider off Twins reliever Tyler Kinley. As he ran up the first-base line, Torres gave a little fist pump.

Jets GM Mike Maccagnan was more tight lipped than usual today in his pre-draft session with reporters. He wouldn't confirm the obvious (they will draft a quarterback) and he wouldn't give any details on how they evaluate the quarterbacks. He wouldn't even comment on the importance of hand size when evaluating quarterbacks, saying it could tip their ... well, hand. Chances are, it'll be a Baker Mayfield-Josh Rosen decision. Some key people in the organization prefer Mayfield, but Rosen has some support as well.

The NBA appointed Derek Chang today as CEO of NBA China. Chang, who will oversee the NBA's basketball and business development in the country, previously was head of International Lifestyle Channels at Scripps Networks Interactive and before that was DIRECTV's VP of Content Strategy and Development. He also was an executive VP of development at YES Network where he played a role in launching the network and developing its relationship with the Nets.

Clint Frazier finally feels like he's "through it" in terms of the concussion, Aaron Boone says. The Yankees OF played today in an extended spring training game. He played five innings, had a hit and a stolen base and although he played in the outfield, he got no action there. He'll play another extended spring game tomorrow, and will be with Single-A Tampa in a game Thursday.
