Jose Abreu is back to swinging a power bat this month (seven homers) as evidenced by his 440-foot blast on Saturday. Randal Grichuk has also been hot, as his 430-foot shot was his sixth since being recalled to the majors on Aug. 11.

Steven Matz indicated his session throwing off a mound on Sunday went well. That puts him on track to come off the DL and start Wednesday against the Marlins. Matz had been dealing with a mild shoulder strain.
