Jets injury report (early version): QB Sam Darnold (foot strain) suited up for practice for the first time since the injury, but he didn't participate in light positional drills — a sure sign he won't practice at all. This means Josh McCown is likely to start for the second straight game. WR Robby Anderson (ankle) wasn't seen on the practice field — an ominous sign, considering they're coming off a bye.

DL Kerry Wynn (concussion) appeared to be the only Giants player on the 53-man roster not practicing. Remarkably healthy at this point of season.

So how can the Jets fix their woeful offense? Coordinator Jeremy Bates said it starts with third-down efficiency — a major emphasis this week. The Jets are ranked dead last at 28.8 percent. How bad is that? The last team to finish with a lower percentage was the 2015 Rams (25.9).

Jets special teams coordinator Brant Boyer called the Patriots' Cordarrelle Patterson "the best kick returner in the game." Patterson is averaging 30.9 yards per return, with one TD. Boyer expressed concern about his kickoff coverage, saying "players aren't running hard enough" at times. Say what? He said they relax when they think it might be a touchback. Boyer said he's emphasizing all-out effort this week. He said "we're in trouble" if they relax against Patterson.

Saquon Barkley named Offensive Player of the Week. He had 142 yards rushing on 27 carries in a win over the Bucs. The only other Giants rookie to win the award was Jeremy Shockey in Week 17 of 2002.

Sunday will be a QB matchup for the ages, no matter who starts for the Jets. If it's Sam Darnold, 21, the age gap between him and Tom Brady, 41, will be 19 years, 306 days — the largest QB gap since the 1970 merger. If it's Josh McCown, 39, it will be the second-oldest starting QB combo since the merger — 80 years, 258 days. The oldest: Vinny Testaverde (44) versus Brett Favre (38) in 2007 —a combined 82 years, 44 days old.

The Knicks' new lineups worked well against Portland but New York couldn't hold a 10-point second half lead, falling 118-114 to the Blazers. The Knicks got 32 points from Tim Hardaway Jr. but allowed Portland to hit 46 percent from behind the arc. The Knicks, who've struggled on defense for much of the season, have lost six in a row.

Allonzo Trier's t-shirts and sweatshirts will be available at https://represent.com/allonzo for a two week period ending December 4, or until they sell out. Proceeds from sales will benefit the Win program, which helps homeless mothers and their children. Established in 1983, the organization has roughly 1,200 units of transitional housing which provides shelter for more than 4,700 people. It also focuses on solutions for the many causes of homelessness by helping women improve their job skills, life skills and health.

Allonzo Trier, the Knicks' two-way guard, was raised by a single mother. He said it was important to partner with an organization that helps single mothers and their children when choosing where a portion of the proceeds from his clothing line would go. "I am excited to be working with Represent and Win to support single mothers and their children in New York," Trier said in a statement. "This city has embraced me since the moment I got here and being able to give back to this community in a way that acknowledges my mom and all she has done for me means everything to me."
