Sanchez's HR binge makes for good trivia

Gary Sanchez's 11th home run came in his 81st MLB at-bat, matching the record for fewest ABs to reach 11 home runs. Who did he tie? Why, Shane Spencer, of course. A late-season sensation from the Joe Torre era, Spencer did it between 1998 and '99, per the Elias Sports Bureau.

Yankees routing Orioles like it's 2007

Less than 24 hours after beating the O's 14-4 on Friday night, the Yanks were at it again in a 13-5 blowout win Saturday afternoon. Those results mark the first time since 2007 that the Yankees have scored at least 13 runs in two straight games, the Elias Sports Bureau notes.

Asdrubal Cabrera has an issue with the same knee that sent him to the disabled list. He had been on the DL for three weeks with a strained patellar tendon in his left knee. Cabrera had been hitting .455 (15-for-33) since returning, including a first-inning infield single Sunday before departing.

Add Asdrubal Cabrera to the mounting injuries for the Mets. Cabrera departed Sunday's game in the first inning after gingerly advancing to second base on a single by Kelly Johnson. Cabrera had collided at first base with Philadelphia's Tommy Joseph earlier in the inning, when Cabrera reached on an infield single.
