Young Yankees lefty Justus Sheffield was impressive in his first inning of work, striking out two en route to retiring the side 1-2-3. He featured a few 96 mph fastballs and a sharp 88 mph slider for his strikeout pitch. His second inning went a little differently. A leadoff walk, a hit batter and a two-run Maikel Franco homer put an end to Sheffield's day. After an early 4-0 lead, the deficit in the fourth was cut to 4-3.
