Nassau Coliseum to host first card since 1986

Omar Figueroa and Robert Guerrero will square off on July 15 as the main event in the return of boxing to the renovated Nassau Coliseum in New York.

Patience was certainly a virtue for Mets LF Michael Conforto leading off the first inning at home on Tuesday night. He sent the 10th pitch from Padres RHP Jhoulys Chacin deep to right to tie his career high in home runs in only 40 games.

The Yankees lost to the Royals, 6-2. Kansas City couldn't solve Yankees rookie starter Jordan Montgomery, as they scored their only run on a Lorenzo Cain solo shot in Montgomery's 6 2/3 innings. But then against Yankee relievers Adam Warren, Jonathan Holder and Chasen Shreve, Kansas City was even more homer happy. Each of the Yankee relievers gave up a homers, as Jorge Bonifacio, Whit Merrifield and Mike Moustakas all went deep.

Rookie Jordan Montgomery leaves to a nice hand after his best outing of his young career. Montgomery allowed just one run on two hits, striking out six and walking none in 6 2/3 innings. The Yankees are beating the Royals, 2-1 in the 7th. Aaron Judge is 0-for-2 with a walk.

ESPN Stats and Information

Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks has 8 HR in 33 games. He had 8 in 123 games last season.

ESPN Stats and Information

Jhoulys Chacin has been charged with 7 R in 2/3 of an inning -- he's the 6th starting pitcher to allow at least 7 runs in an appearance of less than 1 inning against the Mets. The last was Dave Mlicki, 2002 Astros (Mlicki was a former Met). Chacin is the 2nd starting pitcher to allow at least 7 runs and 8 hits in less than an inning vs the Mets. The other instance was by Hall-of-Famer Jim Bunning of the 1970 Phillies (also 7 runs, 8 hits).
