Scouts from at least nine different teams are attending the Fordham pro day. Draft-eligible players from eight New York area schools are participating, hoping to catch someone's eye. It's not quite Ohio State or Alabama -- no sign of Todd McShay -- but you never know. In 2011, a no-name receiver from Monmouth (N.J.) named Chris Hogan showed up at the Fordham pro day. You may have seen him winning a Super Bowl with the Patriots.

The Yankees starting shortstop on Opening Day looks as if it will be 5-foot-7 Ronald Torreyes. At this point, he is expected to be backed up by slick fielding, light hitting Pete Kozma. The Yankees have sent Tyler Wade, a 22-year-old prospect, to minor league camp. Didi Gregorius is expected to be out around 6 weeks with his shoulder injury.

Giants coach Ben McAdoo holds court with reporters at the NFL annual meeting in Arizona, as Cowboys coach Jason Garrett draws a massive crowd behind him. Both coaches were expected to meet the press on Wednesday morning, but moved their session to Tuesday afternoon as the meeting ended early.
