Hall of Famer & former U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning, who died Fri. at 85, said in our Cooperstown interviews that neither Pete Rose nor any PEDs user should be inducted in the Hall, but that union head Marvin Miller ("he did more for changing the game than any other person") & Yankees owner George Steinbrenner should be in. "The Boss," Bunning said, was even "smart" in death: "He died in a year, 2010, that there is no estate tax...his estate could have been hit with $500 million in 2009 or $600 million in 2011."

Vogt connects on two-run homer (0:30)

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

Just like that, Masahiro Tanaka looks like he's fixed whatever was ailing him. Tonight, he threw 38 two-strike pitches, 20 of them splitters outside of the strike zone, and he got 12 swings resulting in five of his 13 total strikeouts on them. Every single one of those numbers represented a season high for him. It's like a totally different version of Tanaka showed up tonight, so hey, get him back in there and hope it lasts.
