One key fix for all 30 teams

Play Javier Baez at shortstop full-time? Make Josh Donaldson a DH? Every ballclub has a move that could improve the lineup or roster before it's too late.

Jets daily draft nugget: Finally, it's draft day! They have six picks, but they're hoping to acquire more through trades. The six: Round 1 (3 overall), Round 3 (72), Round 4 (103), Round 5 (148), Round 6 (165) and Round 7 (209). They like the running-back depth and could go for a back in the third round. Defensive end and cornerback also are big needs. Player to watch: Troubled WR Antonio Callaway, who has a list of off-the-field issues. The Jets had him in for a top-30 visit. He'd be a highly controversial selection.

Aaron Judge was discussing after the game what the Yankees need to do to stay hot. "The biggest thing is to just get some runners on when Didi's hitting. That's the only thing we need to do," he said, smiling. Nothing that Gregorius is doing right now surprises him. Added Judge: "It's pretty cool to just see that as a teammate. All the hard work he's put in over the years ... I'm excited for the rest of the year for him."

How bad did the fog get at Yankee Stadium tonight? Aaron Judge said it got tough to track anything that went as high as the upper deck. Weren't the most favorable conditions by the end of the game.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Mike Budenholzer remains a candidate for the Knicks job after interviewing with the club on Sunday. The Knicks would no longer need to compensate Atlanta to hire Budenholzer, which adds intrigue to their coaching search.

Via ESPN Stats & Information, this is what has happened when Sonny Gray has pitched to Gary Sánchez and Austin Romine. Asked if Gray liked pitching to Romine because Romine seemed more proficient at catching balls in the dirt, Yankees manager Aaron Boone today said: "No. I don't think it's that. When he came over here they kind of connected and got on the same page. I think it's a comfort level and hopefully this is one thing that'll be the start of Sonny starting to turn the corner, because obviously he's important."

According to the Yankees, Giancarlo Stanton and Masahiro Tanaka were the beneficiaries of a couple of calls MLB just changed. Stanton's reach-on-error in April 12's loss at Boston was changed to an infield single. It means his average will rise from .213 to .225 entering Wednesday's game. Tanaka also will lose a hit and earned run that came in the April 17 loss to Miami. Cameron Maybin originally had reached on a hit plus an error. The hit has been removed, and the play changed to a two-base error.
