The return that the Kings got for DeMarcus Cousins (2017 first-round pick, 2017 second-round pick, Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans and Langston Galloway) should give the Knicks an indication of what they could expect back in a Carmelo Anthony trade. Every situation is different, but Anthony would bring back less in a potential trade than Boogie did, you'd think. Further complicating matters for the Knicks is the fact that Anthony has a no-trade clause.

Lefty Jon Niese said he accepted a minor league deal with the Yankees because he thought it was his best chance to make a big league roster. He thinks there are opportunities in the bullpen and the rotation. He had no major league contract offers.

Niese won 61 games in his time with the Mets. 3 pitchers have won at least 50 games with the Mets AND won a game with the Yankees - Dwight Gooden, Al Leiter and David Cone. Bob Ojeda is the other Mets 50-game winner to pitch for the Yankees, but he didn't win a game for them.

The Yankees have a minor league deal with Jon Niese, pending his physical, a source confirms. Niese was 8-7 with a 5.50 ERA last year. He will be an extra arm in camp with an outside chance to make the rotation. The New York Post first mentioned the signing.
