Kristaps Porzingis announces at a press conference in Latvia that he'll play for the Latvian national team this summer in the European Championships. The Knicks recommended last year that Porzingis not play with his national team. This year, it is unclear if they made any recommendation. Porzingis was frustrated by the lack of direction within the organization at the end of the season.

Ryan Zimmerman's revamped swing continues to do big damage. After teammate Daniel Murphy suggested he needed to work on changing his launch angle -- Zimmerman hit the ball hard last season, but too often on the ground -- the Nationals' first baseman is hitting .387 and just belted his sixth home run to give the Nats a 6-3 lead in the eighth.
