The Giants are 30th in the NFL in points scored (16.0) entering their bye week. Only the Browns and Dolphins are worse. This after Giants were 26th (19.4 LPG) last year.

Jets defensive snap analysis (based on 73): DL -- Leo Williams 60, Mo Wilkerson 54, Kony Ealy 33, Steve McLendon 20, Ed Stinson 11, Mike Pennel 10; LB -- Demario Davis 73, Darron Lee 60, Josh Martin 40, Jordan Jenkins 38, David Bass 29, Julian Stanford 13; DB -- Jamal Adams 73, Mo Claiborne 73, Marcus Maye 73, Buster Skrine 70, Darryl Roberts 57, Rontez Miles 8, Terrence Brooks 8. Analysis: Davis has yet to miss a snap. Impressive. A full load for Wilkerson despite no practice. Stanford spelled Lee (cramps).

Jets offensive snap analysis (based on 56): RB -- Matt Forte 28, Bilal Powell 21, Eli McGuire 7, Lawrence Thomas 5; WR -- Jermaine Kearse 51, Robby Anderson 45, Jeremy Kerley 29, ArDarius Stewart 10, Chad Hansen 6; TE -- Austin Seferian-Jenkins 42, Eric Tomlinson 34. Analysis: The backfield situation is frustrating for fantasy owners because the personnel deployment is unpredictable. Powell started, but ended up with fewer snaps than Forte. Kerley' usage was down, but they more two tight-end packages than usual -- an extra blocker to deal with Miami's pass rush.

Eli Manning was 0-of-4 on passes of 15+ yards vs Seahawks, according to ESPN Stats and Info. He was 5-of-16 for 45 yards throwing to his WRs. Hard to win that way.

The outlook is bleak as the 1-6 Giants enter their bye week.

Just think, only two teams have a worse record than the Giants (1-6) right now. Only the two winless teams — San Francisco and Cleveland — are worse. The Giants are in the running for Saquon Barkley or a top QB. Either would fit well for the future of the franchise.

Several Jets players said they were disappointed with the field condition at Hard Rock Stadium, which hosted a college game on Saturday. "Pretty bad," Jermaine Kearse said. Jordan Jenkins said he tweaked an ankle because of the chewed-up grass. "It sucked," he said, quickly adding, "But it sucked for both teams."

At 3-4, the Jets are a playoff long shot, but they weren't expected to be in contention. Their definition of "hope" is different than other teams; they can derive hope in seeing the development of young players, namely rookie safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye and second-year linebacker Darron Lee. That's how the season should be judged -- the progress of their young talent base.

DRC said his lack of playing time was the fallout from his discipline the previous week. He accepted it.

Jets WR Robby Anderson threw his helmet and was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct with eight seconds left in the game. Anderson: "I was just frustrated, you know. I'm very passionate about this and I love this game. It hurts losing, especially when you're up on division games. Losing hurts, period." Coach Todd Bowles went soft on Anderson, saying he didn't see the play.

Ben McAdoo didn't think Paul Richardson had his foot inbounds on the joint-catch-ruled TD. He said they'll look at tape.

Even on bad teams, fantasy value can be found. Evan Engram now has 53 targets, which is the most that any rookie tight end has had through seven team games since 1992 (the earliest season for which target data is available).
