The Knicks, obviously, have strong interest in Kyrie Irving (just like 29 other teams) but I'm told people in the Knicks front office would not be willing at this point to include Kristaps Porzingis in a trade. Some with the organization would be willing to include future first-round picks and Carmelo Anthony in a deal for Irving, per league sources.

All-Star slump for Judge

Aaron Judge is homerless in 29 straight at-bats since winning the Home Run Derby earlier this month. Per the Elias Sports Bureau, that's the longest drought to start the second half by a Derby winner since Prince Fielder in 2012, and tied for the fifth-longest such drought all-time.

Jets owner Woody Johnson moved one step closer to becoming the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom, as his confirmation hearing occurred yesterday before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. There was a lighthearted moment when Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, a lifelong Dolphins fan, said "support for your nomination due to you relationship with the New York Jets is painful and difficult, but I'm willing to do it for the good of the country." Continuing his AFC East theme, Rubio told Johnson, "I think you and I agree the country would be well-served if a certain Thomas Brady were nominated ambassador to Brazil. Perhaps that could be arranged before September of this year." Brady is married to the Brazilian-born Gisele Bundchen.

Here's Hall of Famer and MSG Network broadcaster Clyde Frazier on the Phil Jackson firing: "I was shocked when they released him. He gave me an opportunity to go to the draft representing the Knicks. I was hoping I could bring them some luck and we could do better than the eighth pick. But I was telling the kids that I was the first-round draft choice in 1967 and Phil was second round. He was my roommate, we were very close. So I was very disappointed that it didn't work out for him." Frazier graciously talked to to ESPN during his Balling and Calling youth program on Thursday, which is run by NYC Basketball Kids and includes campers from New York City, Long Island and New Jersey.
