Terry Collins insists the Mets are focused in the moment and have not even discussed a postseason roster. Still, Collins did allow that Eric Campbell and Ty Kelly would be strong considerations to start at first base against a left-hander such as Madison Bumgarner over lefty-hitting Lucas Duda or James Loney.

Adam Rubin ESPN Staff Writer

Lucas Duda asked not to play on Saturday. Duda is having difficulty playing back-to-back days as he returns from a four-month absence without rehab games. It is nothing specific to Duda's lower back, Terry Collins said. Instead, Duda simply is experiencing general soreness from ramping up in activity.

Terry Collins said he expects Bartolo Colon will bounce back on Saturday against the Phillies after he allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings in Miami in an emotional game in his last start. "Monday night was a difficult scene for anyone at that game," Collins said, alluding to the Marlins' first game after Jose Fernandez's death. "We're going to write that one off."

Jeff Hornacek says forward Maurice Ndour has done a nice job helping on defense and finishing around the basket: "He's that guy that provides activity. I really like the way he moves without the ball, cuts to the basket. He rolls and catches. That's really what we want with him."

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Jeff Hornacek is confident that new players will be able to learn the triangle. "You know, it's complicated in a sense that guys have a lot of options to do and it's a read…. The general setup of it is not complicated. It's just a matter of those guys understanding without the ball what's going to happen."

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Here's Jeff Hornacek's label for the portion of his offense that uses triangle. "I think we call it something else - triangle aspects." Hornacek will use aspects the triangle – the offense Phil Jackson has had coaches run in NY – in half court to space the floor. But he'll insert his own elements into the offense.
