Astros manager A.J. Hinch said it would be "a dream scenario" if Justin Verlander was available out of the bullpen in Game 7, "but that's a lot to ask of him." Hinch will check with Verlander before the game to determine his status. Lance McCullers, on three days' rest, could be the Astros' first option behind starter Charlie Morton.

Si ganan el juego de esta noche, Sabathia sería el séptimo lanzador en la historia en ser el abridor en dos partidos de eliminación de su equipo en la misma postemporada.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi sounded as if he would go to Tommy Kahnle as his first reliever out of the year pen in place of starter CC Sabathia. If everything went according to plan for Girardi he would likely used David Robertson and then closer Aroldis Chapman.

Sabathia, Morton take the hill in Game 7

Saturday's Game 7 features a pitching rematch from Game 3 of the ALCS. CC Sabathia has been dominant during this postseason. Charlie Morton, on the other hand, posts some not-so-great numbers, mainly due to his performance in Game 3, in which he allowed seven earned runs in 3 2/3 innings in the Astros' loss to the Yankees.

Lineups for NYY at HOU

Josh Reddick, hitless in 21 at-bats during the ALCS, moves from No. 2 to No. 9 in the Astros' batting order for Game 7, with Brian McCann bumped up to No. 7 and Alex Bregman to No. 2. Evan Gattis and Marwin Gonzalez are also shuffled around. The Yankees are going with the same lineup as in Game 6.

It's the calm before the storm here at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Game 7 of the ALCS between the Astros and Yankees is just a few hours away. Tonight, Charlie Morton will be on the mound for the home team, with CC Sabathia taking the hill for New York. Only one team is headed to Hollywood for the World Series, which starts Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.

A reliever who will likely prove very important in tonight's ALCS Game 7 is the Yankees' Tommy Kahnle. With CC Sabathia likely to go six innings at most and with Chad Green unavailable, the Yankees will need to find a way to get the ball to closer Aroldis Chapman. David Robertson has been used so much, it is unclear how effective he can be, while four-time All-Star Dellin Betances still isn't fully right. That leaves Kahnle as an important player tonight. Kahnle has thrown 10 scoreless postseason innings.

Yanks need to overcome road struggles

If the Yankees want to advance to the World Series, they'll have to find a way to improve upon their postseason numbers on the road in Saturday's Game 7 in Houston.

D.J. Fluker was added to the Giants injury report with a knee injury. He's listed as questionable. Fluker has been a valuable asset since being inserted into the lineup.

Are the Yanks up for the challenge?

A win Saturday night for the Yankees in Houston would make them the first team in over a decade to beat two 100-win teams in a postseason. Three of the last five teams to do it won the World Series. The 104-win Dodgers await the ALCS Game 7 winner in this year's World Series.

Astros' Keuchel available in relief for Game 7

Like the rest of the Houston Astros' pitchers, save Game 6 hero Justin Verlander, Dallas Keuchel will be available out of the bullpen for Saturday night's ALCS Game 7, with the Yankees also taking an all-hands-on-deck approach.

When it comes to facing Astros second baseman Jose Altuve, it isn't as simple as throwing a good pitch. Just ask Yankees reliever David Robertson, who served up Altuve's eighth-inning home run in Game 6 of the ALCS. "I threw it exactly where I wanted to," Robertson said. "And he hit it out of the park."

Ex-Yankee Brian McCann's ground-rule double off Luis Severino started the scoring for the Astros in the fifth inning. “We were just waiting for one big hit," McCann said. And sure enough, Houston scored six more times after that, en route to a 7-1 win to force a Game 7 on Saturday night. "It was just nice to get a big hit," said McCann. "It didn't matter who it was. I came up in plenty of spots this postseason and didn't come through -- so to get that hit was big."
