Jeff Hornacek going with a back court of Ron Baker and Derrick Rose late in the second quarter, an interesting alignment that's helped the Knicks build on a 15-point lead. It allows Carmelo Anthony to play power forward, a position where he's thrived over the past few seasons.

Derrick Rose has been sitting on the baseline while a team trainer appears to be working on his lower body -- possibly loosening his hips. It doesn't appear to be anything significant.

With Kyle Lowry (wrist) out, the Raptors have looked a bit out of sync. The Knicks have slowed the pace while running more of the triangle offense and it's allowed them to get a few more stops so far. Toronto is 0-for-4 from behind the arc.

The Knicks implemented more of the triangle offense, in part, to help defensive balance. They'd been struggling with that after Derrick Rose drives and the problem arose again in the first quarter when the Knicks were left with four men back after a Rose drive and DeMarre Carroll went coast to coast, converting a layup.

The franchise tag for a defensive end will be 10.14% of the salary cap, per source. That comes out to $17,035,200 for JPP and Giants if the cap is $168M.

Jeff Hornacek was asked if Joakim Noah's viewed as a starter next season. As expected, he said that things will be open for competition at beginning of training camp.

Jeff Hornacek said the Knicks waived Jennings because they wanted to open a spot for Randle and because they couldn't give him the minutes he wanted.

Jeff Hornacek says Brandon Jennings' release is not an indication that the Knicks have pivoted to tanking.

Jeff Hornacek says Chasson Randle and Ron Baker will both serve as backup lead guards for NYK. Baker will probably have the first opportunity off the bench and Randle will be 2nd.

Jeff Hornacek said Jennings wanted to play more minutes and his waiving will open up more minutes for Ron Baker.

Jeff Hornacek says he hopes that Joakim Noah can return before the end of the season but it still sounds unlikely.
