Per Adam Schefter, the Browns are trading former first-round pick, LB Barkevious Mingo, to the Patriots. Mingo was the sixth overall pick in the 2013 draft and has seven sacks in three seasons. The Browns did not pick up his fifth-year option and he was scheduled to become a free agent after this season. Patriots hoping he will provide some additional pass rush.

Here's a list of several things the team will do: -- Colts players, cheerleaders, Blue the mascot and staff will visit Kokomo Thursday afternoon to visit families affected at the Red Cross shelter. -- Financial support for the American Red Cross and United Way of Howard County. -- The proceeds from a 50/50 raffle from Saturday's preseason game vs. Philadelphia will be donated to the American Red Cross and other service agencies. -- Colts Cheerleaders will participate in a telethon on CBS4, a local Indianapolis TV station, Thursday evening to help raise funds for the Salvation Army's relief efforts

Bears rookie 3rd round pick DL Jonathan Bullard returned to practice after being excused the last few days to deal with a family matter at home. Bullard, who is having a strong preseason, expects to be active for Saturday's 3rd preseason game vs. Kansas City.

Among the military personnel who watched Redskins practice at Andrews Air Force Base today: Tech Sergeant Jill Kozub and Master Sergeant Valerie Moore. Kozub is from Buffalo but Moore, on the right, is a longtime Redskins fan from Hampton, Virginia. Both have attended private workouts at Redskins Park, too. "I love it anytime we get a chance to see them practice," Moore said.

Bears starting tailback Jeremy Langford was cleared for full participation in Thursday's practice. Langford said he suffered a minor foot injury vs. New England last week when he got caught up on a play near the sideline. After the game, Langford experienced soreness and swelling, which kept him out for a couple days. But Langford says he's ready to play in Chicago's third preseason game on Saturday against Kansas City.
