Jets starting RT Breno Giacomini, on the PUP list with a back injury, addressed the media for the first time. He said he suffered a lower-back injury in June minicamp. He claimed to be making progress, but admitted he's at only "80 percent speed" right now. He didn't sound optimistic about opening Day, admitting regular-season PUP is a possibility. That would shelve him a minimum of six games. The original prognosis was six to eight weeks, from what I understand. Ben Ijalana and Brent Qvale are rotating at the position, but they're looking outside the organization as well, Todd Bowles said.

There's a Mike Pouncey sighting on the field during warmups. He's out for at least the preseason with a left hip injury. The Dolphins need him back sooner than later.

Jets WR Brandon Marshall reflected on the 2015 offseason, when he practiced with Ryan Fitzpatrick for the first time. "He was terrible, he really was," Marshall said. "He was coming off a broken leg. There was a 5-yard hitch route and he'd throw it in the dirt. Everybody felt that way. We were like, 'What the heck? If Geno (Smith) goes down, we're in trouble.' That's how everybody felt. But he proved us wrong. He's pretty good."
