On Tuesday afternoon, 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick acknowledged that he is still working on putting back on the weight he lost during his injury rehabilitation. Coach Chip Kelly said Monday that Kaepernick isn't back to 100 percent, which is why he's not ready to consider Kaepernick for the starting job. Asked what he's doing to get that weight back closer to his usual playing weight of 225 pounds, Kaepernick said "Eat food. And a lot of it. That's something that I've always constantly had to do, I always have to be conscious of. I have a very lean body type so putting weight on eating is a little more difficult than (for) others."

With both Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett present at Tuesday's practice, and the Patriots not brining in another quarterback, it is an indication that the team feels good that either Garoppolo and/or Brissett will be available Sunday against the Bills.

Falcons coach Dan Quinn on Matt Ryan falling to the ground instead of going for the block with 300-pound Saints nose tackle Nick Fairley coming at him: "That one for sure needs to be discussed here today and his athleticism on that play. His teammates certainly let him see that one. Definitely the wrong time to catch a cleat in the grass. Some people would call it business decision. He certainly would not. I did see the clip, and we had some fun (with) it on the plane ride home last night."

The 49ers added another to their group of receivers Tuesday, signing WR/returner Keshawn Martin to a 2-year deal. Martin is likely to take OL Anthony Davis' spot on the roster after he retired again on Monday. The team worked out Martin a couple of weeks ago.
